Dear Wabun Family,
As school vacations begin and plans are made for holiday celebrations with family, my thoughts are with our Wabun family. Many of us are seeing family and friends for the first time in over a year and it has been wonderful to connect with campers and staff at our in-person open houses this fall. We are planning for more in the spring and will post details on our website and social media.
This Tuesday is the winter solstice and, in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the shortest day of the year or day with the fewest hours of daylight. And while I love to cozy up by the fire and snuggle in to read a book with my kids, my heart gets excited for the days to be longer and to celebrate the summer solstice with staff on Garden Island as we await the arrival of campers. Each day, as we add daylight, is a reminder we are getting closer to camp and returning to our Wabun family, reunited on the beach, which I have dearly missed.
